Describe your relationship to technology. Is it an integral/essential part of your life? Why or why not? How has technology shaped the person you are today?

  1. Technology has become an essential part of my life. As a high school student we are required to utilize the technology we have around us. For example, Naviance is a large part of our high school career; that is how we will send our transcripts to colleges and universities we wish to attend. This transition to completely utilizing technology has shaped me as a person. I would probably be a much better speller if I wasn't typing half of my assignments, where spelling doesn't matter because auto-correct or spell check will correct it for me. While technology at time has provided with useful knowledge and tools, I feel that it has made me lazy in my approach to tasks.

  2. Technology is integral and essential in my life. I use computers all of the time in school for research, and at home. If I did not have technology I would not be half as aware of the world around me. I would not be updated on current events, and I would not have as easy-access to the vast vat of information the internet holds. It has shaped me because I am used to instant-gradification, which is not positive, but it has also educated me in ways a class cannot do. I also use technology for communication; texting, emailing, messaging. Without technology I would not have the job that I do, technology helps me network and consequently make money. :)

  3. Today's technology allows one person to have ties to many people almost a world away. With the new social networking websites and cool new smartphones it is only right that we use them to our advantage. With iPhones, you can look up almost anything at any given time and hav the answer in seconds. This instant satisfaction is something many humans have come to terms with. Personally, even though it has a large effect on my life, I'd like to think I can cope without my phone and technology. It is very important to me because it's a lot easier to communicate with many of my friends through texting and I can email many of my teachers from my phone. Technology has just made a lot of things more simple than they were before.(not naming names) recently one of my teachers decided that it would be a good idea to give the students homework online, and I realized when I went to do his homework, how much technology can mess up, and it's not as reliable as we think it is. The reason people become addicted to their phones and social networking is because these flaws are something they overlook easily and proceed with their obsession anyway.

  4. Technology is very essential in my life. At the least every week, you are most likely forced to use a computer to do an assignment, print out a paper do research or something else related to school. you use your smartphone that you have to socialize with friends or listen to music to make you feel better. These are some of the reasons why technology has a big part in my life. Without it, I could honestly say life would be very hard considering im so use to having technology around me. I guess you can say technology can help you in the long run like college, research, and school stuff but it can also put you down to things like laziness where your face is buried in your phone or computer all day doing nothing but socialize. Its like a drug almost.

  5. Technology is an integral part of my life. I use my phone to look at powerschool and see what I'm missing and what my homework for the night is. Technology is super helpful because it helps you find out what happens with the world and helps you become aware of your surroundings. It also helps communicate with people you haven't talked to in years or relatives who don't live near you. Although technology has a lot of flaws to it, there's also good things about it like online there's websites where you can read books for free. There's even eBooks. Technology has shaped the person I am today kind of badly because since I've started using technology I've become quite lazy with everything like I don't go outside anymore and it distracts me from homework at times

  6. My relationship with technology is an essential part of my life because it helps me spread my work via the internet (writing work as well as schoolwork (like this for example)). Technology is interlaced in my everyday life through alarm clocks, TV, internet, cell phone, etc. and it has helped me learn about many things that i may not have learned on my own (like research/tips on creative writing, psychology, etc.). The internet/technology has helped me become a wiser person and has helped me learn about ways to express myself (such as through music, writing, reading and sewing). It has also made me more self-aware about what I post online.

  7. Technology is an essential part if my life because, technology does make my life easier. Technology has made it way to do basically everything for me with the exception of few things. It's made it so that I can do my homework online without actually having to do anything but type. Without technology my life wouldn't be harder, it's would just be back to the basic things. Some technology is good & actually does come in handy. While other technology is just for fun & useless. Technology has shaped me today because I tend to be lazy, because if the fact that technology can do the majority of things for me. Although that is not something that I shouldn't be proud of, honestly that's how I am.

  8. Technology is an essential part of my life because I've grown accustomed to the way it works. Nowadays it's very necessary to use technology wherever you are and for anything. It's much easier to search something up on Google and find your answer. Even communicating has improved throughout the web and social networks. Because of technology I'm more aware, alert and updated on today's world. I like to communicate via text, email or web because it's faster and less complicated. Whether you like it or not technology has shaped today's world.

  9. Technology is an essential part of my life. If i didnt have technology I wouldnt be able to do the things I do today or I wouldnt know half the people I know today. For example some of us only know half the people we know today because of social networks like twitter facebook and instagram. Technology is also important for people who has family that dont live in the same city as them.

  10. Technology is essential to every ones everyday life, as well as my own, because we are the "generation of electronics". We find it much easier to go type rather than write, for example in English class. In a way it does shape the person I am because I find myself lost on how to spell a certain word because your phones or computers have spell check and you don't have to fully think through the spelling. It makes us lazy in sense that we don't find information on our own. With the push of a button someone can search up anything they want, where as before you needed to search through things to find your answer to things. It takes away our sense of, uniqueness because we don't generate an answer on our own, we base it off of things people have posted online, not from a first hand book. Getting an answer offline isn't making you shape your own answer, it's more like using an already discovered answer.
